Although I have already seen other Sado dramas, I still
cried a lot because of this movie. This is actually the first time after so
many years that I was moved to great tears because of a movie. Yoo Ah In
deserves an award for this movie. He did very well in this movie as well as the
King and the child the played the role of Yi San. I also like how the movie
revolved around the characters and period where most viewers would want to see
every time people would hear of a Sado film or drama.
I cried so much watching this movie. The part where Sado’s
son came with his wife to give him a cup of water was heartbreaking. And the
part when the King opened the rice chest after confirming that the Crown Prince
was already dead would really burst you into tears. Also, when Sado’s mother
cried telling it was her who caused her son’s death, I just can’t help crying.
When she said what is left to a mother who caused her son’s death and even
grass would refuse to grow on her grave – it was heartbreaking.
