I bet that my post would be the last summer outing aka teambuilding post for this year. Well, our teambuilding activities for this year was not the usual teambuilding that we usually have annually. For the past years, we have been doing this activity as a whole organization meaning to say, not by division or department like they have suggested us to do for this year. The thing is (this is what I've only heard and am not really sure if it is a fact) the office did not have budget for our teambuilding because they have allotted a huge amount for the celebration of our founding anniversary this year.
Anyways, we were in-charged of the token/souvenir items for the anniversary so our boss decided to postpone our teambuilding which was originally scheduled last week of May. Also, some of our staff had a very important activity last week which required much attention and time. I hope that some of you have seen on television the launching of our hybrid electric train at PNR Tutuban station. I wanted to attend the launching so I could write a good post and photos about the said launching but unfortunately, I was not invited haha. Congratulations to the project team members for the successful launch of the train. As one of the many commuters riding the PNR train everyday, I am more than happy to see this kind of development.
Ang haba ng intro haha sa presinto ka magpaliwanag!... Okay, so finally I heard that our boss will be announcing the details of our teambuilding activities today. We planned on going to the twin falls of Kalayaan, Laguna but the rainy season has already started and I have phobia in visiting falls during this season so I was thankful that they are choosing a different location/venue for the outing. But it would have been a very good experience visiting the twin falls. I was actually excited before so it's kind of sad that it was not pushed through.
Our destination for this year's teambuilding would be at Pansol. I have been hearing about it many times in the past but seriously, I do not know where Pansol is. Since we are already very late for this kind of activity, they have decided that we will just be going to Pansol.
(I will be posting about my Pansol experience after the teambuilding.)
For the meantime, I would be glad to give details about our previous teambuilding activities for the information of others who are looking for a venue for their upcoming teambuilding.
2008
My first time visiting the famous Laiya in San Juan, Batangas was in 2008. We stayed at Sabangan Resort. I was amazed of the clear sea water and the weather was so nice that time and was perfect for swimming all day.
For more information about the resort, you can visit Sabangan Beach Resort Facebook Page and Sabangan Beach Resort Website.
I had a really good time that time so thinking that we are going to hold our next team building in the same area made me more excited.
2012
From our office in Taguig, we travelled for 3 hours to reach our destination - One Laiya Beach Resort, again, in San Juan, Batangas. The beach was different from other beaches that we have gone through. It was like we are visiting a farmhouse or ranch - that kind of feeling then when you turned your head on the other side, you'd feel like you are in Makati.. hehe sort of that feeling because there was a huge building there - the Estrellas de Mendoza Playa Resort.
Anyways, room rates at One Laiya is kind of expensive. They have nipa hut rooms which was very near the beach but I believe that the rooms do not have comfort rooms. I was with my husband that time and thought of getting the cheapest room for Php 2,400.00 but since it has no CR, we decided to just bring our very old camping tent. The one that my husband used during their picnics when he was still a child.
I have downloaded some of their room rates which you can find below.
I hope that helps.
Also, if you are planning to bring food and drinks inside the resort, One Laiya won't charge you. Yes, no corkage fees except for those who will be bringing caterers like we did.
One thing that I did not like about One Laiya was that, it would be hard to reach the place if you don't have your own car or vehicle. Well, I guess that would be the same for many resorts out there.
