The Throne - Sado 2015

The Throne – Sado 2015

Although I have already seen other Sado dramas, I still cried a lot because of this movie. This is actually the first time after so many years that I was moved to great tears because of a movie. Yoo Ah In deserves an award for this movie. He did very well in this movie as well as the King and the child the played the role of Yi San. I also like how the movie revolved around the characters and period where most viewers would want to see every time people would hear of a Sado film or drama.
I cried so much watching this movie. The part where Sado’s son came with his wife to give him a cup of water was heartbreaking. And the part when the King opened the rice chest after confirming that the Crown Prince was already dead would really burst you into tears. Also, when Sado’s mother cried telling it was her who caused her son’s death, I just can’t help crying. When she said what is left to a mother who caused her son’s death and even grass would refuse to grow on her grave – it was heartbreaking.

Angono Food Trip - Le Cou De Tou Restaurant

I live in Angono since 2011 but I really have not visited much of the places there. Until hubby brought me to Abbey Road Burger and Le Cou De Tou this weekend. Both food houses are inside Aurora Subdivision in Angono. I have already shared our experience at Abbey Road Burger so I will be sharing now our experience at Le Cou De Tou (Liko Dito). We arrived there at around seven jn the evening last Saturday. Like Abbey's, the place is like a garage turned to a restaurant. They have nipa huts which served as dining area for their customers. When I saw the menu, their price were cheaper than what I expected. I asked the staff what were their best sellers and ended up ordering mixed budbod (Php 60) and sisig rice (Php 60) and a pitcher of iced tea (Php 70). We occupied one of the nipa huts and both agreed that the place is kind of old already. They really need to be fixed. We did not wait long and our orders arrived. My mixed budbod was actually good for my taste. I liked it. On the other hand, hubby did not like his sisig. He said it was dry and the egg was already fried. Anyways, I suggested he try the mixed budbod next time... okay, I already have this plan of coming back again until I needed to use the comfort room. Their CR was actually okay but it seems that they have not maintained and cleaned the area for quite sometime. When I returned to our table, I feel like I was about to vomit. I just do not understand why they do not clean their comfort rooms. I was very disappointed after using the CR so if you have plans of eating there, it is better to skip using their comfort rooms.

Well, we might come back and just take out if we ever go back to their place.

Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Max

It has been years seen the last time I really bought a mobile phone. If I remember it right, the last phone I bought was my Nokia N70. I had postpaid account afterwards which I renewed every 2 years which means a new phone every 2 years. But then my hazard pay was reduced from 30% down (#hugot) to 23% then became 15% this year, so I decided to just gave up my postpaid plan. So I was using my old phone for quite sometime now and decided to just buy a new one.

Good camera is one of the things I look in a phone but affordability is the number one on my list : )

After reading some reviews, I initially planned and almost bought Huawei P9 Lite (but what I really want was Huawei P8). But when we went to Huawei shop, hubby won't allow me to buy it because he said there will be no parts available if ever my phone will be damaged. So I just gave up the idea of buying a Huawei phone.

Then finally, without planning at all, I ended up buying Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Max when I dropped by at a Cherry Mobile shop in Monumento. The sales agent said it was a recent addition to their Flare series. Anyways, what I really like about the phone is that it can last longer (3 days regular of regular use e.g. sms, call as per their agent).

I have been using my Cherry Mobile Flare S4 Max for more than a week now and honestly, I am starting to like it. At first, I was not very happy with its camera but learned that it is just that I was not using it properly.

Its battery would last a day or two and I like it. I browse the net all the time so I really expect that the battery won't last a day, but it does. It has been a while since the last time I charge my phone at night since its battery can last until the next day.

Fortunately, my browsing experience became faster than when I was still using my old phone. It has bigger display which is 5.5 inches.

GSIS UMID Card and Renewal of Consolidated Loan

A month or two ago, I was informed that my Unified Multi-Purpose Identification Card (UMID) is already available for pick up. I just have to bring a photocopy of my two (2) valid IDs and go to GSIS Pasig branch. Uhm, I was like.. bakit sa Pasig? Out of way. Anyways, I planned to go to their office a couple of times but none of those planned was pushed through. Until last week, one of our HR staff called me and told me to prepare a photocopy of my IDs because someone from GSIS Pasig will be arriving to give our UMID cards. Wow, that was unexpected. Our group won’t have to travel going to their office. So to make the story short, the GSIS staff handled us our UMID cards. Indeed very convenient for us. I was very happy that they even went to our office for that. Two thumbs up! Thank you.

Another good thing was, my UMID card account was issued by Landbank. Well, the old ones were from Union Bank, then they were given an option to have their accounts transferred to Landbank which was pretty inconvenient. I went to the nearest Landbank ATM machine to change my UMID card PIN. After two days, I went to the nearby GSIS Wireless Automated Processing System or GWAPS to check the status of my card. By the ways, if you are from Bicutan, Taguig, you can find the GWAPS facility inside the Department of Education Building near Upper Bicutan Elementary School/Taguig Hall of Justice/Taguig City University. You should ask the guard on duty that you are looking for the GSIS kiosk and you will be asked to sign their logbook. You will then be directed to go inside a room where the kiosk is located. Ah well, it was awkward that the kiosk is located inside an office, which was just a step or two away from the first table occupied by one of the room’s staff. The staff was actually there while I was busy checking my data in the kiosk. I updated my contact number. It was uncomfortable because he can clearly see what I was doing especially that I was planning to renew my consolidated loan that time hahaha. Anyways, eh ano naman, hindi naman kami magkakilala. I was more concerned with the security of the transaction I was being made that time. You can view your data and loan history in the kiost. My first consoloan was 3 years ago and decided to renewed it. They will deducting my balance to my new loan.

The following day, I went to our Accountant’s secretary to inform his boss that I just renewed my consoloan but I was informed that he has already approved it. Wow, that was really fast. Good job Sir Johnny hehe. So by this time, I am just waiting for GSIS to process my loan. Let us see if how long they will be processing my loan renewal. I will just be updating this post later.

Teambuilding 2016

I bet that my post would be the last summer outing aka teambuilding post for this year. Well, our teambuilding activities for this year was not the usual teambuilding that we usually have annually. For the past years, we have been doing this activity as a whole organization meaning to say, not by division or department like they have suggested us to do for this year. The thing is (this is what I've only heard and am not really sure if it is a fact) the office did not have budget for our teambuilding because they have allotted a huge amount for the celebration of our founding anniversary this year.

Anyways, we were in-charged of the token/souvenir items for the anniversary so our boss decided to postpone our teambuilding which was originally scheduled last week of May. Also, some of our staff had a very important activity last week which required much attention and time. I hope that some of you have seen on television the launching of our hybrid electric train at PNR Tutuban station. I wanted to attend the launching so I could write a good post and photos about the said launching but unfortunately, I was not invited haha. Congratulations to the project team members for the successful launch of the train. As one of the many commuters riding the PNR train everyday, I am more than happy to see this kind of development.

Ang haba ng intro haha sa presinto ka magpaliwanag!... Okay, so finally I heard that our boss will be announcing the details of our teambuilding activities today. We planned on going to the twin falls of Kalayaan, Laguna but the rainy season has already started and I have phobia in visiting falls during this season so I was thankful that they are choosing a different location/venue for the outing. But it would have been a very good experience visiting the twin falls. I was actually excited before so it's kind of sad that it was not pushed through.

Our destination for this year's teambuilding would be at Pansol. I have been hearing about it many times in the past but seriously, I do not know where Pansol is. Since we are already very late for this kind of activity, they have decided that we will just be going to Pansol.

(I will be posting about my Pansol experience after the teambuilding.)

For the meantime, I would be glad to give details about our previous teambuilding activities for the information of others who are looking for a venue for their upcoming teambuilding.

2008

My first time visiting the famous Laiya in San Juan, Batangas was in 2008. We stayed at Sabangan Resort. I was amazed of the clear sea water and the weather was so nice that time and was perfect for swimming all day.

For more information about the resort, you can visit Sabangan Beach Resort Facebook Page and Sabangan Beach Resort Website.

I had a really good time that time so thinking that we are going to hold our next team building in the same area made me more excited.

2012

From our office in Taguig, we travelled for 3 hours to reach our destination - One Laiya Beach Resort, again, in San Juan, Batangas. The beach was different from other beaches that we have gone through. It was like we are visiting a farmhouse or ranch - that kind of feeling then when you turned your head on the other side, you'd feel like you are in Makati.. hehe sort of that feeling because there was a huge building there - the Estrellas de Mendoza Playa Resort.

Anyways, room rates at One Laiya is kind of expensive. They have nipa hut rooms which was very near the beach but I believe that the rooms do not have comfort rooms. I was with my husband that time and thought of getting the cheapest room for Php 2,400.00 but since it has no CR, we decided to just bring our very old camping tent. The one that my husband used during their picnics when he was still a child.

One Laiya offers different types of accommodation. For more information you can visit One Laiya Facebook Page.

I have downloaded some of their room rates which you can find below.

I hope that helps.

Also, if you are planning to bring food and drinks inside the resort, One Laiya won't charge you. Yes, no corkage fees except for those who will be bringing caterers like we did.

One thing that I did not like about One Laiya was that, it would be hard to reach the place if you don't have your own car or vehicle. Well, I guess that would be the same  for many resorts out there.
